In the Bible the call to worship is before the call to serve. Worshiping with brothers and sisters in Christ gives us the spiritual nourishment in body and soul to serve the Lord and others.
And so the call to serve is a call to communion and personal nourishment as much as it is a call to Christian work and effort.
At Lamoine Baptist Church there are many ways to serve. We have places where anyone can just “jump in”, like the monthly meal we serve at the Emmaus Shelter or joining our Prayer Chain. And we also have elected positions of service. Our Nomination Committee gets together at few times a year to pray and help the congregation select those with the gifting for leadership positions (e.g. Deacon Board, Mission Committee, Christian Education).
